Dryden, Alden “Big Al” Dale 88, of Centerville, passed away May 10, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born April 3, 1933 in Los Angeles, California to Ethel (Spicer) and Herbert Dryden. Alden served in the Naval Security Agency during the Korean War. “He went on to work in engineering for Hughes Electronics, Ford Motor Company, Nissan Motor Manufacturing Company, and also ran a family-owned controls and conveyor engineering company. His career took him all over the United States, Venezuela, and Japan. Alden is survived by his wife, Vera (Kerns) Dryden; son, John Dryden; daughter, Amy Dryden; grandchildren, John Michael Dryden, Susan Dryden, Lorelei Haddock; sister, Ethelda Izor. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Norm Dryden, Lorin Dryden, and Carl Dryden. Alden was a generous person who had a great sense of humor. He was always ready to tell a good joke. Alden loved to travel, and enjoyed the time he spent in his career being able to visit far-away places. In his down time, he did some personal traveling as well, and enjoyed going camping and fishing with his family. Alden also enjoyed flying, and obtained his pilot license so he could be a private pilot. Visitation will be held for Alden on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Rogers Funeral Home in New Lebanon. The funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. with interment to follow at Holp Cemetery.
