Andy “Pat” Banks, 75, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025. He was born on February 27, 1949 in Campton, KY. Being one of thirteen children, he learned hard work and family are important in life. His family moved to Dayton, OH for a better life when he was a little boy but part of his heart always remained in Kentucky. Pat was a loyal husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend whose personality was felt whenever he entered a room. He attended Plainview Open Bible Church in New Lebanon, OH, following after the love of his life Faye.
Pat is preceded in death by his loving wife Faye (Bailey) Banks, his parents (Grover) Cleveland and Carrie (Watkins) Banks, his father and mother in law Gene and Francis Bailey, his brothers JR, Jim, JC, and Carl Banks, his sisters June Isenhower, Wanda, and Stella, his brothers in law Ronnie Myers and Kenny Fleenor, as well as his brother in laws Bill and Gary Bailey.
Pat is survived by his biological children Andy Banks (Shana) and Stephanie Reynolds (Andrew) and the children he considered his own: grandson Andy Banks (Brooke) and Tina Jordan (Jason). Nothing in the world meant more to him than his grandchildren Kaitlyn, Landon, Payton, and Olivia. He is also survived by his sisters Mary Myers and Mae Fleenor, sister-in-law Ann Banks, as well as countless nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pat was a jack of all trades: plumber, tile layer, mechanic, electrician, construction worker, heavy equipment operator, and truck driver. He was always the first person anyone would think to call when they needed help. He would drop everything to come to someone’s aid. There was nothing he couldn’t fix, except for his broken heart after losing Faye this past October. He longed for the day that they would be reunited.
Always the life of the party, Pat will be remembered for being brutally honest, outgoing, and just a little bit crazy in the best way possible. He had a laugh that could fill a room and a spirit too big to ever be forgotten. Pat had a special gift for making people smile, especially children, who were drawn to his playful energy. Whether he was telling a wild story, pulling a harmless prank, or just being himself, he brought his larger-than-life personality wherever he went. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that somewhere, he is still cutting up—probably too loud, probably embarrassing someone, and definitely making heaven a whole lot more fun.
A visitation will be held to celebrate Pat’s life on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Rogers Funeral Home from 12:00 to 2:00 pm, with service starting at 2:00 pm with Pastor Joshua Grimes officiating. www.RogersFuneralHomes.com
