Anita Ellen Towe

December 18, 1947 — November 21, 2024

Anita Ellen (Lindsay) Towe, aged 76, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 21st at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio. She was born on December 18, 1947 in Troy, Ohio, to parents Charles Lindsay and Edith (Vore) Lindsay. She moved several places around the country before returning to Ohio and graduating from Northridge High School in 1965.

Anita is survived by: her loving husband of 45 years, Samuel Towe; brothers David (Colleen) Lindsay and Jon (Linda) Lindsay; four children: Lori Towe McCoy (Scott Shaneyfelt), Eric (Carmina) Towe, Kevin (Kimberly) Towe, and Benjamin (Jennifer) Towe; grandchildren Kaitrin McCoy, Travis (Jessica) McCoy, Alicia (Ethan) Lawson, Emma (Mitchell) Walton, Ian (Melissa) McCoy,  and Noah, Evelyn, Abigail, Aubree, Eleanor, Micah, Jaxon, Isaiah, Savannah, and Hannah Towe; and three great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by: her father, Charles Lindsay; step-mother Doris Lindsay; and mother Edith Lindsay.

Anita loved being a homemaker, mother, and grandmother. Over the years, she enjoyed RV travel, southern gospel quartet music and going to shows at LaComedia Dinner Theater. She and her husband volunteered with the Boy Scouts for many years. She was a member of Crestview Baptist Church, and especially loved the fellowship gatherings with her friends there. As life slowed down, her joys in life were her grandchildren and doting on her beloved dogs, first Skipper and most recently, Blackie. She gave the wonderful gift of unfailing loyalty to and absolute pride in every child or grandchild, and her gentle and quiet way was known to everyone.

Anita passed peacefully, surrounded and supported by her loved ones. Her faith in Christ is strong and her family is comforted by the knowledge that her body and mind are at peace in the presence of her Savior. Final arrangements are being made by Rogers Funeral Home, New Lebanon. The family will gather for a private celebration of life at a later date. The family would like to thank the extended family, friends and church family for their love, support and prayers during this difficult time. “…For I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day.” II Timothy 1:12.
