Anthony Stephen “Tony” McCall
Age 78 of Dayton, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024
Sargent McCall served in the USMC honorably from 1964-1970, having served two tours in the Vietnam war.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dedrick and Dorothy (Kemper) McCall, sister Brenda McCall, granddaughter Macy Laine McCall, wife Sophia McCall, step son George Perkins, good friend Dale Edwards, and his beloved dog Sweet Pea.
Tony is survived by his son Tracy (Melanie) McCall, daughters; Fay (Doug) Singleton, Sandy Camper, and Cindy (Jim) Heltsley; step children Dennis Perkins, and Carmie Bradley; grandchildren Heather, James, Julia, Blake, Serena, Jesse, Savanna, Mason, & Ben; step grandchildren Amber, Sophia, Heather, Michelle, Shelby, & Dennis Jr.; and 13 great grandchildren with the 14th on the way. He is also survived by his uncle & best friend Randy (June) Kemper, sister Beverly McCall, many nieces, nephews, & cousins; and his good neighbors Dennis (Sandy) Combs, & Mike Sanders.
Tony retired March 9, 1999 from the Dayton VA grounds maintenance department. While working there he received a special contribution award for his heroic efforts and disregard for his own personal safety in rescuing a gentleman who had fallen into the lake.
Tony enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and neighbors. He was a history buff, and also enjoyed fishing, hunting (everything from squirrels, deer, to mushrooms), collecting guns, knives, coins, arrow heads & Indian artifacts. Tony took pride in cooking for his family, friends, & neighbors. He was full of humor and had a heart of gold, always willing to give anything and everything that he could to everyone who knew him.
Visitation will be held from 12-1pm with funeral service to follow at 1:00pm at Rogers Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. Interment with military honors will follow at 2:00pm at Dayton National Cemetery. www.RogersFuneralHomes.com
