Burial
Barbara Lee Falldorf, 88, of Dayton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 22, 2026. Born on February 3, 1938, in Dayton, Ohio, Barbara was the daughter of Adam and Barbara (Windham) Krull. For 30 years, Barbara served as a teacher’s aide in the New Lebanon City School District. She had a gift for making children feel seen and supported, and she poured patience and kindness into the classroom. Being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was her greatest joy. She cherished every visit, every holiday, every ordinary afternoon spent in the company of the people who meant everything to her. Barbara found peace in simple, beautiful things—gardening, tending to her flowers, and spending time outdoors. She had a way of making even the smallest moments feel meaningful. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John A. Falldorf, who passed on August 5, 2017; her brother, Butch Krull; and her son-in-law, Jim Slohm. Barbara leaves behind her three devoted children—John E. Falldorf and his wife, Tara; Jalynn Gerber; and Joanie Slohm—along with her sister, Judi Krull. She is also survived by her grandchildren Erica Jackson and husband Wes, Nicole Gerber, Jessica Spoonmore and husband Ronnie, Zach Eldred and wife Lily, David Slohm and wife Cyndi, and Michael Engel and wife Andrea; and by her greatgrandchildren Samantha, Alexis, Madi, Kaylee, Kaiden, Reagan, Elias, Elijah, Aiden, Roma, Brenan, Rooney, and Samuel. She is remembered as well by extended family and friends whose lives she touched. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Rogers Funeral Homes in New Lebanon, with burial to follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery in West Alexandria. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton in memory of Barbara L. Falldorf. Condolences may be shared at www.RogersFuneralHomes.com.
