Bettie J. Pinson

PINSON, Bettie Jean Age 94, of Springfield Masonic Home, passed away peacefully with her daughter and son-in-law by her side Friday October 13, 2017. She was born July 12, 1923 in Dayton to the late George and Opal Starr. Bettie was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 46 years, Claude A. Pinson; son, Claude L. Pinson; sister, Nina Brewer; and brother, Chester Starr. She is survived by her daughter, Janet (James) Lewis; grandchildren, Michael (Judy), Tony, Steve (Jennifer), and Dan (Elisa); several great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bettie was active with the Gem City and Buckeye Square Dancing groups, attended Memorial Baptist Church, and an avid reader of the Bible. She loved to work a cross-word puzzle, was a devoted housewife and mother, and had a wicked sense of humor. A visitation will be held Thursday October 19 from 11AM to 12PM at ROGERS’ FUNERAL HOME, New Lebanon. The funeral service will begin at 12PM with Pastor Donnie Smith officiating.
