HELTERBRAN, Betty A long-time resident of Trotwood, passed away very peacefully on June 18, 2016 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born April 10, 1927 to Asa Strader and Bernice (Bunnell) Strader. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Paul Helterbran, Jr.; parents; and sister, Eileen. She was a teacher at T.U.C.C. Pre-School for many years where she touched countless lives of the children in her classes. She was a life-long member of the Trotwood United Church of Christ and the Trotwood-Madison Historical Society. She was a volunteer for numerous years at the Victoria Theatre Association. Betty enjoyed shopping, knitting, traveling, baking, and spending time with her 5 granddaughters. She enjoyed being a mother and grandmother to her family, which includes her daughters and husbands, Pam and Doug Barhorst and Amy and Matt Eha; granddaughters, Lauren (Taylor) Dynes, Christina Barhorst, and Mekena, Hanna, and Hallie Eha; brother, Roger Strader; and many more relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 23 at 2PM at Trotwood United Church of Christ with Pastor Larry Ganger presiding. The family will receive friends at the church starting at 1PM. A private graveside service will be held at the family’s convenience. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to TUCC or Hospice of Dayton.
