Carol Elizabeth Milyard

March 1, 1949 — September 28, 2021

Carol Elizabeth (Neff) Milyard was born to Herman LeRoy and Luella Burdina “Bettie” (Boze) Neff on March 1, 1949 in Portland, Indiana. She passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving husband and all of her children and grandchildren on the morning of September 28, 2021 at the age of 72 Years, 6 Months and 27 Days. She and Richard Lee Milyard were married on September 23, 1978 and had a blessed 43 years together as they resided in Brookville, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her father, Herman; and her mother, Bettie. She is survived by her devoted husband, Richard; son, Nathan and Jennifer (Baker) Milyard and their children, Dillon Begoon and Caleb; son, Jason Milyard; son, Laban and Mary (Strong) Milyard and their children, Bradley, Jackson, Kellan and Aiden; daughter, Camela (Milyard) and Eric Jacobs and their children Nathan, Audrey, and Luke. She is also survived by her dear sisters, Cynthia L. “Cindy” (Neff) and John Culp of Halsey, OR; and Margaret J. “Marge” (Neff) and Verl Brubaker of Tuolumne, CA. Also, many sisters and brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. She was faithful to her Creator, Lord, and Savior, Jesus Christ, and served Him as a dedicated and loving home maker, devoting her life to raising and educating her four children. Later, she gave of her time to help care for Richard’s mother, Rhoda (Lavy) Milyard. She was known by many for her baking, hospitality, and her love for people. She deeply cared for others and never missed a chance to send a card or make a call to encourage someone, whether it was a birthday, anniversary, sickness, or loss. She never forgot an important day for anyone in her extended family. Her children have many treasured memories of her baking and decorating cakes for every single birthday growing up, and her amazing cinnamon rolls; teaching them to work hard and to always do their best. They credit her for all their life successes and for giving a daily example of being faithful and loving to her husband and family. The family wants to thank everyone for their love and support over the last few months. We are truly grateful for all the love shown to Mom in the form of prayers, visits, cards, and support.
