Charlene J. Petry

PETRY, Charlene J. Age72, of Kettering, formerly New Lebanon, went to be with the Lord and her dad on Friday, September 12, 2014. Charlene was born on August 9, 1942 in Dayton to the late Charles and Joetta Gose, Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gary Gose, Sr.; sister, Carolyn Davis; brother, Bobby Hime; and sister, Thelma Hamilton. Charlene is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 53 years, Bruce R. Petry; daughters, Sondra (Derek) Alcorn and Tonya (Chris) Cheffer; son, Scott (Renee) Petry; grandchildren, Jami, Michelle, Ashley, Lindsey, Andrew, Kahla, Courtney, Kara, Robbie, Tyler, Bryan, Dustin, Angel, Halie; great grandchildren, Christopher, Tyler, Kenzie, Braden, Trey, Madisyn, Keagan, Jaylah, Kaylee, Frederick Dean, Daisja, Mason, Mayci, Breelyn; sister, Phyllis Smith (Jack); brother, Charles (Rita) Gose Jr.; sisters, Mary Helen Steiner and Marilyn Gorden; numerous nieces and nephews; and many more family and friends. She had been a foster parent to over a hundred children and was a member of various clubs and organizations. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 17 from 11AM to 1PM at First Baptist Church of New Lebanon, 335 S. Church St., New Lebanon 45345. The Funeral Service will begin at 1PM with Terry Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to assist the family in purchasing a headstone for Charlene, to Bruce Petry, 267 Mills Place, New Lebanon, 45345.
