Baker, Charles “Charlie
Age 68 of New Lebanon, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 20, 2024 while working in South Carolina. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on August 2, 1956 to his parents, Raymond & Vernia (Gibson) Baker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Onzie Huffman; daughter, Amanda Brown; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a special cousin, Angela Woods.
Charlie is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Barnett; son-in-law, Frank Brown; grandchildren, Braden & Zoe; aunts and uncles, Lois Osborne, Rhonda Baker, Everett Baker, Fred Baker, numerous cousins and friends.
Charlie was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a caring, loving, person who never met a stranger. Charlie enjoyed collecting hats, guns, knives, model cars, and going to the Dayton Airshow and festivals. In addition to his family, he loved his job as a truck driver for over 40 years and most recently worked for Spears Transfer and Expediting for nearly 15 years. Most of all, Charlie loved his family. Whether it be family reunions, cookouts or just being together he loved family more than anything. He will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Friday, September 27th at Grace Baptist Church, 142 Olive Road, Dayton, Ohio 45417. Funeral service will begin at 7:00pm with Pastor Doug Criswell officiating. Arrangements by Rogers Funeral Home.
There will also be a visitation from 11am-1pm with funeral service to begin at 1pm on Sunday, September 29th at Bowling Funeral Home, 1704 N. Main St., London, KY 40741. Pastor Virgil Gibson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Old Union Cemetery in London, Kentucky.
