Clarebelle "Pete" Hammond

Clarebelle “Pete” Hammond age 92 of Brookville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton.

She was born on June 24, 1933, in Liberty, Ohio, the daughter of the late Kathryn L. (Carnes) Light.

Mrs. Hammond was a retired employee of Monsanto with over 30 years of dedicated service. She was a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church. Pete enjoyed watching all sports, especially football; she loved bowling, playing cards and fishing.

Preceded in death by her husband Delbert R. Hammond on January 26, 2005

She is survived by her loving cousins Nancy Michael, Leslie Moyer and husband Norman, her nephew Rev. Todd Hammond and wife Andi, and her niece Hope Appelbaum and husband Bob, as well as numerus other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Rogers Funeral Home, 324 West Main St., New Lebanon with Pastor Glenn Sweigart officiating. Burial will follow at Bearcreek-Hillgrove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

(30 minutes prior to service) on Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton in memory of Mrs. Clarebelle “Pete” Hammond.
