Claude E. "Bob" Smith

SMITH, Claude E. “Bob” Age 75 of Trotwood, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014. He was born in Putney, West Virginia on February 14, 1939 to his parents, Virgil & Macel (Young) Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Edward & Paul Smith; and son-in-law, Kerry Johnson. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Janet Smith; 2 daughters, Susan (Allen) Snyder, and Robin Johnson; 3 grandchildren, Nick (Emily) Snyder, Ashleigh (Chris) Trent, and Ellie Johnson; 6 great-grandchildren, Roman, Mason, and Sadie Snyder, and Landon, Lucas, and Layne Trent; 3 sisters, Donna (Randall) Bradford, Janet Widner, and Debbie (Howard) Millirons; and many more family members and friends. Bob retired from DP&L in 2001 after many years of service. He loved cars, mechanical work, and deer hunting, but most of all, spending time with family. Bob loved people, he was a very social person who never met a stranger. He will be missed. Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 24th from 6-8 PM at Rogers’ Funeral Home, Trotwood. Funeral service will be Saturday morning at 11:00AM also at the funeral home. Pastor Holly VanHoose and Rev. Dustin Millirons will be officiating.
