Cleo Brock

August 9, 1927 — August 28, 2025

We celebrate the life and legacy of Mr. Cleo Brock, a WWII army veteran who served his country faithfully in the Pacific theater. He was a cherished pillar of the Union Pentecostal Church and the West Alexandria community, who was called to his heavenly home on August 28, 2025. Born on August 9, 1927, in Mount Vernon, Kentucky, Cleo's journey through life was marked by his unwavering faith, dedication to family, and the many lives he touched with his wisdom and generosity. Cleo was a man of the soil, with the heart of a farmer. His strong hands worked the land, providing not only for his family but also serving as an example of diligence and stewardship. He carried this ethic into every facet of his life, whether as a builder, an investor, or in his cherished role as a philanthropist. His contributions to the community were immeasurable, and his retirement from General Motors marked the continuation, not the end, of his service to others. Faith was the cornerstone of Cleo's existence. A devout Christian, he lived his beliefs through action, serving his church and embodying the love and compassion of Christ in his daily interactions. His selfless nature was evident to all who knew him, and his wise counsel was sought by many. Cleo's legacy is lovingly carried on by his devoted family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Joy Brock, and their son Stephen Brock; parents, Theodore Roosevelt and Dorothy Brock; siblings, Grace Bowling, Ada Bowling, Leon Brock, Anawathalene Brock, and Gervis Brock; grandchildren, Amy Maggard, as well as three heaven babies.

His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his daughter, Debbie Maggard, and her husband, Sherman Maggard. His grandchildren, Aaron & Martha Maggard, Ben & Nikki Brock, Ruth Maggard, Emily Shirden, and Jonathan & Kristin Maggard will remember their grandfather as a beacon of love and strength. The light of his wisdom will continue to shine brightly in the lives of his great-grandchildren, Tyler & Miriam, Silas & Joanna, Nathan & Rebekah, Susanna, Zoe, Stephen, AJ, Ethan, Malachi, Julianna, Tyrel, Isaac, Madalyn, Lydia, and Aleigha, as well as great-great-grandchildren, Wesley, Bronwyn, Eleanor, Eve, Trey, Marta, and Mallory. His extended family of many nieces and nephews also mourn the loss of this extraordinary man.

Cleo's life was a testament to the values of hard work, faith, and love. His was a life well-lived, marked by the many people he inspired, and the good works he left behind. As we say farewell to Mr. Cleo Brock, we are comforted by the knowledge that his memory will forever be a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He lived a life that truly made a difference, and his impact will be felt for generations to come
