STOGDILL, Clifford R. Age 98 of Brookville, formerly of Trotwood, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015. He was born on July 12, 1916 in Livonia, Missouri. Clifford was preceded in death by his wife, Virgie, of 66 years; and an infant daughter. He is survived by his sister, Ercil Alenbaugh of California; son, Ronald; 3 daughters, Diana Gauer, Ruth Mason, and Martene Bishop; and 32 grandchildren. Clifford served in the U.S. Navy from May 1944 until October 1945 aboard a Navy Destroyer Escort. He participated in the Philippine Liberation, Okinawa Invasion, and East China Sea Expedition. Clifford was a pipefitter/welder by trade and a proud Union Member of Local 162 since June of 1942. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge for 60 years and is a 32nd Degree Mason. Clifford was an avid sport fisherman, and enjoyed fishing with his wife and family. He was a beloved father and mentor to his family and friends. He will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM with Masonic and Funeral services to follow at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Rogers’ Funeral Home, 110 West Main St., Trotwood, Ohio 45426. Pastor Larry Ganger officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow the funeral service at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to the V.A.
