Connie Lynn Coffman (nee Tamplin), age 76 of New Lebanon, OH formerly of West Alexandria, OH, went peacefully into her eternal home with her beloved family by her side, on December 26, 2025. Connie was born in Dayton, OH on February 2, 1949 to Richard Owen Tamplin and Bernice Lucille Tamplin (nee Simmons). Connie was a 1967 graduate of Twin Valley Schools in West Alexandria, OH and Sinclair Community College. Connie married the love of her life, John A.K. Coffman III, on July 12, 1968 at Salem Lutheran Church in West Alexandria.
Through the years, Connie worked at the West Alexandria pool, at Miami Valley Hospital as an EKG technician, and a bus driver in New Lebanon. However, her biggest career accomplishment came after she graduated from Sinclair Community College as an interpreter for the hearing impaired. She worked at Goodwill as a job coach, Eaton Schools, and retired from Dayton Public Schools.
During the 1997-1998 school year, Connie and John spent a year teaching English as a second language in Kosice, Slovakia as part of a mission outreach program for Lutheran Social Services. Connie and John sponsored four young ladies from Slovakia to attend a year of high school in the United States. They are Timea Anderson, Andrea Fizel, Evi Dolezalova, and Livia Belescakova.
In her spare time, Connie enjoyed making egg ornaments, working on puzzles, participating in Sunday morning Bible Study, playing Bingo and cards. She enjoyed Sunday dinners with her beloved family and relished spending time with her grandchildren.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Bernice Tamplin, her husband, John A.K. Coffman, III, her sister and brother-in-law, Kaye and John Puvogel, and mother-in-law, Rebecca Coffman.
Connie is survived by her beloved only child, John Allen Kelly Coffman, IV and her daughter-in-law, Kelly Kierstyn Coffman as well as special grandchildren, John Allen Kelly Coffman, V and his wife, Sarah and Kierstyn Rebecca Coffman. A young woman who Connie and John met on the mission field in Slovakia became their "adopted" daughter, Timea Anderson (sons are Matyas and Tomas).
Also surviving is her brother Richard Tamplin (Linda) and Harry Tamplin (Jeanette), along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Rogers Funeral Home, New Lebanon, OH from 5-7 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Connie's home church, Grace Lutheran in Eaton, OH with Pastor Dwight Hanson officiating. There will be a visitation from 10-11am with the service beginning at 11am. Internment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in West Alexandria, OH. Donations in her memory may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 111 Lutheran Drive Eaton, OH 45320.
The family would like to thank the staff at Vancrest for their support and care. Also, a huge debt of gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Kettering Medical Center, Eaton, OH for their love and compassion.
