Daryl M. Michael

MICHAEL, Daryl M., Sr. Age 84 of New Lebanon, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born in Liberty, Ohio on April 12, 1927 to his parents Alfred & Mary (Whitehead) Michael. Preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Becky Michael; grandson, Ryan Michael; and sister, Glenna Askins. Survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Wanda (Law) Michael; son, Daryl Michael, Jr.; Daughter, Melinda Cox; daughter, Darlene Michael; and son, Dana Michael; sister, Betty Long; brother-in-law, Charles Askins; 5 grandchildren, Shaun (Leah) Michael, Scott Michael, Shannon (Nick) Powell, Andrew Cox, and Heather Cox; 5 great-grandchildren, Conner & Claire Michael, Lane & Carson Powell, and Hadleigh Cox; and many more family members and friends. Daryl graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1945. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Germany during WWII. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. Daryl was also a member of the New Lebanon United Methodist Church and the Liberty United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, Nov. 7, 2011 at Rogers' Funeral Home, New Lebanon, 324 W. Main St., with Pastor Gary Eubank officiating. Interment will follow at Trissel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.
