STARNES, Diane L. (Spatz)

Age 64 of Union, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Thursday, February 9, 2023. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on January 26, 1959 to her parents, Joseph Spatz, Jr. & Pauline (Raffel) Spatz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Spatz.

Diane is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Eddie Starnes; daughter, Olivia Starnes; sister, Christine (Stephen) Scarbro; brother, Joseph (Karen) Spatz; sister-in-law, Elaine (Bruce) Miller; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Diane graduated from Trotwood-Madison High School and MCJVS in 1977. She then attended the Kettering College of Nursing and earned her RN. Diane worked in the NICU at Dayton Children’s, Labor and Delivery at Good Sam, and also Home Health Care for a period of time. She was currently working as a High-Risk Case Manager at Care Source. Diane enjoyed caring for her patients with their best interests in mind. She was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her family was her greatest source of joy and pride. She loved crafting, sewing, bonfires, family cookouts and fun times! She was always ready for an adventure.

Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Thursday at Rogers Funeral Home in New Lebanon. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30am on Friday, February 17, 2023 at Precious Blood Catholic Church.
