Donald L. Rinehart

RINEHART, Donald L. Age 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013. He was born in Trotwood, Ohio, and graduated from Trotwood Madison High School in the class of 1949. He was a graduate of the Univ. of Cincinnati then served two years in the U.S. Army. He also attended Wayne State Univ., Oakland Community College, and Sinclair. After working nearly 20 years for G.M. in the patent office, he changed careers and began teaching school at Northmont H.S., then for MVCTC, where he retired in 1993. Don was a member of Trotwood Church of the Brethren where he served as a Deacon and was in charge of the sound team for many years, learning from his uncle Herbert Beeghley. He liked gardening and was a member of the Miami Valley Hosta Society. He liked to travel both at home and abroad. He also served as an usher for Victoria Theater Association for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leona (Wenger) and Clifford Rinehart. Don is survived by his wife, Marilyn (Huffman); son, Terry; daughter, Lyn (Steve); brother, David (Cheryl) Rinehart; 2 grandchildren, Heather and Josh Magoch. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 at Trotwood Church of the Brethren, 208 E. Main St., Trotwood, Ohio 45426, with Pastor Paula Bowser officiating. Visitation will also be at the church Friday evening from 5-7PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service. A graveside service will then be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Trotwood. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Trotwood Church of the Brethren or Hospice of Dayton.
