Dora Mae Shellabarger

SHELLABARGER, Dora Mae 96, of Brookville, passed away suddenly on Tuesday February 11, 2014. Dora Mae was born on October 6, 1917 in Brookville, where she grew up and graduated from Brookville High School. She was the daughter of the late Walter Kinsel and Etta Albert Kinsel. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 62 years, John Shellabarger. She and her family lived in Trotwood for over 50 years, where she was a very active member of the Trotwood Church of the Brethren and Canterbury Garden Club. She was employed for over 20 years in the foodservice office of the Trotwood-Madison School District. For the last 12 years she has been an independent living resident of Brookhaven where she had a fun and happy life with so many friends. Dora Mae was the proud mother of Jane Nocito (Mark) and Joseph Shellabarger (Kathy), as well as four grandsons: Anthony (Casie) & Greg (Laura) Nocito and Joey & Johnny Shellabarger and four great-granddaughters: Lilly, Eva, Bree & Marin Nocito. In addition to her parents and husband; she was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur (Irene) Kinsel, and sister, Elsie (Cleo) Steck. Dora Mae is also survived by her brother in-law Louis Shellabarger and numerous nieces and nephews with whom she celebrated many holiday occasions, weddings and summer picnics. Visitation for Dora Mae Shellabarger will be at 10 AM Saturday, February 15th at the Brookville Church of the Brethren followed by a funeral service at 11 AM and burial at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Trotwood.
