Doris D. Shank

SHANK, DORIS, D (Danner) Age 84, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015. She was born in Medford, Maryland to her parents, Abraham Augustus & Florence A. (Arbaugh) Danner. Doris moved to Dayton when she married Merlin. She moved to Greenville, Ohio in 2013. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merlin Shank; and son, Dane Shank. She is survived by her sister; Caroline Green; 5 children, Brian (Donna) Shank, Martha (Art) Bell, Bart Shank, Hannah (Norman) Shank, and Eric (Lori) Shank; Grandchildren, Jared, Adam, Nicole, Eric, Travis, Brandon, Grace, Madison, Ellen, Zoe, Daniel and Michelle; Great-Grandson, Ethan. Doris was a homemaker and mentor. She was a member and former Secretary at Bear Creek Church of the Brethren. She loved to travel with family, and enjoyed taking many trips to visit dear friends in Mexico. Doris had many supportive friends in Maryland, on Snyder Road, at Bear Creek Church, in Mexico and at the Brethren Retirement Community. A heartfelt thank you to all of her caregivers at the BRC. Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 1 from 5:30-7:30pm at Rogers’ Funeral Home, New Lebanon. A family graveside service will be Friday, Oct. 2, 2015 at 10:00 am at Bear Creek-Hillgrove Cemetery.
