Haas, Dorothea E. “Dottie” age 88, this beautiful soul passed away on July 4, 2020 to be reunited with her soulmate, the late Clarence Haas of 60+ years. She was born on January 17, 1932, and is a native of Dayton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents Nolan and Dorothea (Gillis) Webber and brother Corky Webber. Beloved mother of 4 chilren, she is survived by her daughter Deborah Vest, son Michael Haas, late son Timothy Haas and daughter Terri (Jeff) Furcon. She will be dearly missed by her 3 grandchildren: Chad Vest, Kristina (John) Hill, Scott (Niki) Vest: along with 10 beautiful grandchildren; and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Dottie wasn't without ambition; growing up she enjoyed music and dancing. She studied dance at Lera Rae's Dayton School of Dance on West First Street and performed at Memorial Hall. At a glance you could always catch Duke (Clarence) and Dutchess (Dottie) having fun dancing with each other. The Jitterbug was her favorite past time. She was a cashier and bookkeeper for 10+ years at Elder-Beerman and then spent over 20 years as a realtor for Hussman and Northmoor. Her passion in life, though, has always been cooking and taking care of her family. In 1995, the Trotwood Communicator gave her the honor as Chef of the Month for her special kindness in the community and for her delicious Pinto Bean Pie. She always worked very hard at volunteering with PTO, Pee Wee Football, baseball, Rockettes and as a Leader for Girls Scouts. Her compassion for children led her to start her own in home daycare, where love and laughter helped raise many children. It will be one of her greatest legacies. She was the glue in our family. Her wisdom, heartfelt compassion, loving arms, supportive advice, many problem solving tactics and beautiful smile will remain forever in our hearts. Please join us in celebrating and honoring her life during her visitation at Rogers Funeral Home in Trotwood on Thursday, July 9th from 11:00am - 12:30pm. Funeral and interment will follow directly after the visitation at Bear Creek Hill Grove Cemetery. Our family wants to thank the amazing staff at Kettering Memorial Hospital and Hospice of Dayton. The care and comfort that was given during this difficult time will never go unnoticed or forgotten! In memory of Dottie, please extend your condolences through your donations to the Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, Ohio 45420. You are welcome to send condolences, spend time cooking with your family in her honor, or share a story or picture about Dorothea at www.rogersfunearlhomes.com.
