HECK, Douglas D. Age 65, of Hollansburg, formerly of New Lebanon, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2012. Doug was born October 11, 1946 to the late Emmert R. and Bernice Heck in Dayton. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Evonne Corthell. Doug is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Pat; faithful pet, Patches; children, Christa (Greg) Alspaugh, Tammy (Jim) Foreman, Tracy Harrison, Dawn (John) Reed, and Jason (Donna) Harrison; grandchildren, Holly, Lindsay, Daniel, Brett, Samantha, Tyler, Abby, Quentin, Taylor, and Cassidy; great-grandchildren, Kirsten, Kinsey, Jaiden, and Payton; sisters, Beverly (Robert) Maham and Carolyn (Ron) Puterbaugh; numerous nieces and nephews; and many more family and friends. He was a member of the Darke County Fish and Game, an avid fisherman, hunter, camper, and sports enthusiast. Spending time with family gave him the most enjoyment in life. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 8 from 5 to 8PM at ROGERS' FUNERAL HOME, 324 W. Main St., New Lebanon. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 9 at 11AM at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 282 S. Broadway St., Farmersville with Pastor Larry Lindstrom officiating. Burial will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery, Dayton. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
