Dwayne R. Mohler

June 28, 1939 — April 10, 2015

MOHLER, Dwayne Russell Son of Earl and Esther (Layman) Mohler, was born June 28, 1939, in Hartville, Ohio. Dwayne went to be with Jesus early in the morning of April 10, 2015. On March 30, 1958, he married Donna Phillabaum, and to this union was born 3 children: Amy (Don) Stoner, Dee (Curt) Flora, and Robin (Mary Elaine) Mohler. Realizing his need for a Savior, Dad was baptized into the Old German Baptist Church April 5, 1964, and spent his life joyfully serving the Lord. Dad spent his life working in the construction field where he made many friends and acquaintances. Traveling was a favorite pastime of Dad and Mom’s. They especially enjoyed both going and hosting tours to Israel, where they made many new friends. Preceding him in death are his parents; his brother, Dwight, and his brother-in-law, Daniel Brunk. Surviving along with his wife of fifty-seven years and children are eight grandchildren: Rusty (Ellie) Flora, Renita (Doug) Garber, Jeremy (Rose) Mohler, Heather Stoner, Ryan (Julie) Flora, Andrew (Laura) Stoner, Holly (John) Denlinger, and Krysti (JR) Stoner; 23 great grandchildren; brothers, Glenn (Jeanette), Merlin (Esther), and Ronald (Nancy); sister, Marie Brunk; and sister-in-law, Marilee Mohler, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Although the last few years of Dad’s life were challenging, he was patient and never complained. He and his family were greatly blest by his special friends and caregivers; Steve and Lynette Edgecomb, Elaine Flora, and Roxie Rohrer. There are truly angels here on earth. The time we were given with our dad, grandpa, and great grandpa are precious memories we all hold dear in our hearts. We look forward to our reunion with him in the New Jerusalem!
