Earl L. Owens

OWENS, Earl L. Age 86 of Dayton, passed away at his home on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Orange County, Indiana on March 26, 1927 to his parents Earl Lee and Mabel Owens. Preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Phyllis J. Owens; brother, Carl Owens; 2 grandsons and 1 granddaughter. Earl is survived by 3 sons, Bruce (Lynn) Ballard, Jim Owens, and Ron (Barbara) Ballard; 2 daughters, Vivian (Larry) York, and Barbara Fields; 1 brother, Jim Owens; and numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Earl proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was also was the caretaker of Trissel Cemetery for 18 years. A Graveside service will be held 12:00 noon on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013 at Trissel Cemetery. Pastor Larry Lindstrom officiating.
