BUERSCHEN, Elmer F. Age 93, died peacefully on Thursday, April 7, 2016. Following graduation from Parker Co-op High School in 1942, where he was an outstanding athlete, Elmer enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and proudly served his country during WWII. He retired from Standard Register in 1980 after 35 years of service. He will always be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, gentle spirit and love of life. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Phyllis. They were happily married nearly 71 years. Survived also by three nephews; Jim, Steve and Jeff Buerschen. Special thanks to Margaret and Bob Gottschlich and John Rindler for their love and support over the years and through difficult times. Also, thank you to Dr. Joffe, Dr. Gross, Dr. Cunningham and staffs for their excellent care and genuine concern for many years. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 10:30am, Precious Blood Church, 4961 Salem Avenue, Dayton, OH. Visitation will be from 9:30am to 10:30am at the Church prior to Mass. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Precious Blood Church, Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, OH 45420, or the charity of your choice.
