Emmert D. Rike, Sr.

RIKE, Emmert D., Sr. Age 90, of Brookville, formerly of Trotwood, went home to be with the Lord Monday, April 11, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Pauline (Lightcap); his parents, Lewis and Effie (Reed) Rike, 3 sisters, and 6 brothers. Emmert is survived by 2 sons, Phillip (Melody), and Emmert Dale Jr. (Patricia); 1 daughter, Susan Berthiaume; 1 brother, Paul (Betty); 6 granddaughters; 7 great-grandsons; 3 great-granddaughters; many more family members and friends. Emmert served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He was a founding and longtime member of the Trotwood Grace Brethren Church. He worked many years at NCR as a tool maker, and retired in 1985 from the City of Brookville. Emmert loved to golf, fish, and hunt. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM Friday, April 15, 2011 at Rogers’ Funeral Home, Trotwood with Chaplain Phil Marxson officiating. Graveside service will follow at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the start of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, or the charity of your choice in memory of Emmert.
