Treasured son, brother, father and papaw, Eric Michael Ritchie, age 62 went home to the loving arms of our Lord on January 16, 2024.
Eric was born on November 15, 1961 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Franklin D. and Marjory L. (Humbert) Braumiller.
He grew up in Brookville, Ohio and later attended Dayton City Schools. He enlisted in the United States Navy and after his service came home to work in several different occupations while raising his boys.
Eric enjoyed his retirement, but his greatest joy came when he became a Papaw, eric with his tough façade became a gentle giant wrapped around their tiny fingers.
Eric was the life of every gathering, his humor was infectious, and he was a born storyteller. His love for his family was fierce! A friend to all who knew him, Eric would have given you the shirt off his back to help even a stranger. He loved finding deals on vehicles, cooking fried mushrooms, hunting, fishing and cruising on motorcycles.
Eric is once again fishing with his dad (Franklin D. Ritchie), dancing with his mom (Marjory L. Braumiller), and telling inappropriate jokes to his nephews (Alex J. Ritchie and Andrew P. Raybourn). He leaves behind a devastated family including his sons, Travis Ritchie (Heather Mason), Jacob Ritchie and John Faison (Kristi Sumpter); grandchildren, Madalynne, Emily and Tristan; siblings, Joel (Diana) Ritchie, Bonita Ritchie, Maria (Dan) Ellis, numerous nieces and nephews, and a lifelong list of friends. Eric lived his life fearless and in his final moments his family watched the freest spirit they ever knew fly free!!
