Estol "Gene" Stringer, Jr.

STRINGER, Estol “Gene”, Jr. Age 84 of Trotwood passed away on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on January 19, 1936 to his father, Estol “Bob” Stringer, Sr.; and mother, Althea (Hanning) Oppy. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys M. Stringer; son, Estol E. Stringer, III; step-son, Lonnie Ogles; and brother, Dan Stringer. Gene is survived by his children, Melody A. and David Raab, Thomas H. and Nicole Stringer, Vickie L. and Mark Stapleton, Scott A. Stringer, and Tony and Jackie Ogles; grandchildren, Michael D. Raab, Zachary A. Stapleton. Alexander A. Stapleton, and Lucas R. Stringer; and great-grandchild, Michael D. Raab II. Gene was a Trotwood girls softball coach for many years. He will be missed. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Monday, Nov. 23rd at Rogers Funeral Home in New Lebanon. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 11:00 AM also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Bear Creek Cemetery.
