Ethel S. Owens

OWENS, Ethel (Sturgill) age 94 of Dayton, Ohio departed from this earthly life on September 30, 2011. She was the loving wife of the late Charles Owens for 22 years. She faithfully attended churches in Virginia and Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Jesse and Sarah (Bloomer) Sturgill of Blackwater, VA; her sisters, Bertha Collins, Ollie Fleenor, Emily Jones, and Bessie Osborne; and her brother, Edmond Sturgill. She is survived by her daughter, Opal Freida [Tuvell] Sexton, and sons, Larry Owens and Jerry Owens; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Visitation at 6:00 P.M. with a service following at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at ROGERS' FUNERAL HOME, 324 W. Main St. New Lebanon, OH with Pastor Coleen Beasecker officiating. Burial will follow the next morning at 10:30 A.M. at Bear Creek Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio. The family thanks the staffs of Brookhaven and Hospice.
