BLEVINS, Eugene "Gene" Age 84, a long time resident of New Lebanon, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, November 27, 2012. Gene was a barber in New Lebanon for 54 years and loved talking and spending time with his customers. He enjoyed fishing in Canada and Lake Erie, hunting, and was a long time member of the Twin Valley Rod and Gun Club and the NRA. Gene was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of Farmersville and the New Lebanon American Legion Post #762. He served our country in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. Preceded in death by his devoted wife of 58 years, Corinne E. (Stanley); parents, Fred and Elsie (Miller) Blevins; and brother, Johnny Blevins. Gene is survived by his children, Debbie (Bill) Slack, Denny (Monica) Blevins, and Terry(Becky) Blevins; grandchildren, Dustin (Missy) Slack, Lindsey Slack, Jacob Blevins, Amanda (Antwan) Thornton, and Laura (Derek) Roeth; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Jim Blevins; sister, Wanda Kingrey; sisters in law, Bobby (Bob) Dunwoodie and Louise (Ivan) Moore; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Gene's life will be held at 1PM on Friday, November 30 at ROGERS' FUNERAL HOME, New Lebanon with Pastor Bill Walk presiding. The family will receive friends from 11AM until the time of the service. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dad's caregivers, Roxy and Denny Rohrer, Debbie Wilson, and Hospice of Dayton. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Gene's memory to Hospice of Dayton or New Lebanon Rescue Squad.
