Gary C. Childs

CHILDS, Gary C. Age 64 and 7 months, ended his journey and fell asleep in Christ at 6:02 AM March 18, 2013 at Wood Glen Alzheimer's' Community. Gary was born August 6, 1948 in Baltimore, MD, the son of Ralph H. and Iona M. (Ford) Childs. He was preceded in death by his mother, Iona and sister, Melonie Joanna Childs. Survivors include his father, Ralph H.; brothers, Richard R. Childs and wife Cindy D. of SC and Jefferson Keith Childs and wife Cindy A. of Hillsboro, KY; nieces, Lindsay Rae Childs and Christina Catherine Childs who reside in Hillsboro, KY; dear friends, Mike and Sherry Hartfelder and family of New Lebanon; and numerous other friends. Gary was a resident of Wood Glen Alzheimer's Community in Miamisburg with his father and when he was younger, assisted his parents with the non-profit Christian Charity named Childs-Ford Foundation for Christian Outreach, Inc., which they established. Gary enjoyed spending time outdoors in the family garden and loved his pets and other animals. A Celebration of Gary's will be held at 11AM on Monday, March 25 at Wood Glen Alzheimer's Community, 3800 Summit Glen Drive, Dayton, OH 45449 with Pastors Alan Cain and Rex Cain, officiating. The Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Dayton National Cemetery.
