Glenn Edward Lewis, May 31, 1930 – October 24, 2025.
Glenn E. Lewis, a devoted husband, beloved father, treasured grandfather and great-grandfather, proud veteran and friend to many, passed away peacefully last Friday surrounded by his family. He was born in Hiatt, Kentucky, in 1930 and built a life defined by faith, family, and service. Glenn married the love of his life, Wanda Lewis, on February 12th, 1951. Their 74 years together were filled with a deep, abiding love that inspired everyone fortunate enough to witness it. He proudly served in the United States Air Force retiring in 1990. He went on to become a corporate pilot, amassing more than 17,000 flight hours and traveling over 4 million miles throughout his aviation career. In addition, he established Lewis Aviation where he designed and produced various supplies and testing equipment for jet engines. He is survived by his cherished wife, Wanda; his brother, James Lewis (Mary Katherine); his two daughters Linda Lewis Lister (Bill) and Brenda Lewis; his granddaughters, Jessica Benson, Brianne Hankins (Jesse), Trishina Russ (Michael), and Jennifer Lewis; and three great-grandchildren (Alex, Adam, Zachary) who brought him endless pride and joy. He is also survived by a niece Melanie Dalton (Marvin) and nephew Tommy Baldwin (Lynn). He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ellen Smith, and his sister Blanche Johnson (Frank), who surely welcomed him with loving arms. Glenn’s charisma was unmistakable. He never met a stranger, had a story for every occasion, and could solve almost any problem put before him. He was hard working, faithful, and devoted to his family and his service to the Lord. His prior church affiliations include First Baptist Church in New Lebanon, where he was ordained a deacon and Nottingham Baptist Church in Willoughby Hills, Ohio. His legacy shines brightly in the love he shared and the lives he lifted. The family takes comfort in knowing he is in the arms of Christ.
