Helen I. Dawson

DAWSON, Helen Irene (Erisman) Age 77, Born March 21, 1934, passed away peacefully at her home on January 24, 2012. She was the loving daughter of Wilbur and Dorothy Erisman and a member of Slifers Presbyterian Church. Preceded in death by her parents and infant son, Steven Roger; two sisters, Martha Eby and Luella Baker; and brother-in-law, Jerry Baker. Survivors include her loving husband of 58 years, Roger Lee Dawson; sons, Chris (Jenny), Craig (Dorothy) of West Alexandria, OH, Todd (Carol) of Springport, IN; daughter, Tami (Matt) Justiana of Fort Wayne, IN; 9 grandchildren, Heather & Cara Tackett, Roger (Sarah) Dawson, Holly Dawson; Andy, Jesse, Willy and Corey Dawson. Adam (Rachel) Dawson; two step-grandchildren, April and Brandon; and special granddaughter, Kelli Kopf. Two brothers, James Erisman and Herbert Erisman of Farmersville; and one sister, Shirley James of Dayton. Also survived by mother-in-law, Pauline Wogoman, nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws, sisters-in-laws and a very special friend of many years, Mila Jean Newland. Helen was a wonderful, caring, devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had a love for working in her yard and decorating for all of the holidays, including her time and devotion spent on her and Roger's beloved, Santa Villa. She will be forever remembered for reaching out to the hearts of children at Christmas and for her contribution to the community. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Friday evening at Rogers' Funeral Home in New Lebanon. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the funeral home with Pastor Susan Hartman officiating. Interment will follow at Holp Cemetery.
