Hiltraut Townsend

Hiltraut "Peggy" Townsend (Mast) of New Lebanon, Ohio, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother died at Hospice of Dayton on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at the age of 81. Peggy was born November 21, 1939 in Kuckerneese, Germany. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, J.C. Townsend. Peggy is survived by her four children, Mike Townsend, Barbara (Daniel) Seim, Rosemary (Ronald) Smith and Walter (JoEllen) Townsend; stepson, Charles Daniel (Lucinda) Townsend; five grandchildren, Lacey (Brandon) Manchester, Jacob (Allison) Seim, Lindsay Seim, Amanda (Sean) Brookshire and Lauren Smith; four great-grandchildren, Preston, Noah, and Lincoln Manchester and Ryan Seim; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Peggy was a loving, devoted mother and grandmother who loved cooking, nature, reading, crosswords, and spending time with her family. She will be missed dearly. Peggy will be buried with her husband at the Dayton National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider Hospice of Dayton or The Humane Society.
