BUNN, Iva Lee Age 91 of Dayton, was born on June 3, 1928 and her life came full circle on Dec. 29, 2019. The story goes…..Grandmother Anis was out in the barn milking cows when it was time to deliver her baby. She returned to the house and had eldest daughter Blanche boil some water and then go and get Grandfather. Grandfather was Seldon Ray. He came from Ireland with his brother Hiram and settled in Huntington, W. VA. There Seldon met and married Anis Mary Fields. This child would be the twelfth of their thirteen children. When mother arrived shortly afterwards, she was so small they had to use handkerchiefs for diapers and a wooden show box for her bed. Iva Lee, as she likes to be called, grew up in Huntington and started working at an early age. There she met and then married Paul Bunn on November 11, 1950. Paul and Iva Lee relocated to Dayton, Ohio to start their own family. In 1963 Paul was ordained as a minister, Iva soon followed. They worked together opening many missions and churches throughout Ohio. Many years of caring and giving to those in need both materially and spiritually. Paul’s death in the spring of 1985 was devastating to both family and friends. Paul and Iva Lees marriage gave them two daughters, Gilda Lee and Mary Anis. Grandchildren Justin Michael Devereaux, Vanessa Nicco and Heather Faith were the next generation to follow. Today, great-grandchildren Keegan McKenzie, Reachel Morgan and Aidan Sean are the new generation. Throughout her life Iva Lee has been the most caring, giving and loving of Mothers and Grandmothers. Her love of family is evident in each of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s lives. Over the last 50 plus years she has worked as a housekeeper for hundreds of families here in the Miami Valley. Many are now deceased but keeps in contact with. They have become a part of her life as well. Watching the children of these families grow up, marry and have children of their own has given Iva Lee additional joys. Iva Lee is known for her sunny disposition and her love of God. Through her life she has faced many obstacles, but she never allows them to overcome. Defeat is not in her vocabulary. She is loved by all who knew her.
