Jake White

February 15, 1936 — April 25, 2020

WHITE, Jake Age 84 of Trotwood, peacefully passed away at his home on Saturday, April 25, 2020. He was born in Lee County, Virginia in a small house on the side of a mountain at a place called Rock Lick on February 15, 1936. His parents were William and Rachel White whom preceded him in worldly departure, along with his beloved wife, Anna. Jake is survived by his son; daughter, Donna Derringer; his brother, George White who was his best friend; and mess of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends. Jake was a loving husband and a strong man. He was a General Motors retiree, and spent the better part of his life training race horses at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. He even owned a bar for some time called “Jake’s Place”. He liked to take naps in his easy chair after finishing his crossword puzzle. He gave the best advice and was a great joke teller. And he was fast to pluck a small tune on his guitar -if anybody cared to listen. He was a beekeeper and loved to eat tomatoes from the vines in his garden. Jake was a great hunter, and a terrible fisherman -unless you asked him. And lastly, he was the best Grandfather a kid could ever hope for… You are dearly missed Memaw. Until that time -truly. Due to the coronavirus, funeral services will be held privately for the family at Rogers' Funeral Home with graveside service at Bear Creek Cemetery.
