ALLEN, James Ray “Slick” Age 75 of West Milton passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2020. He was born in Dayton on May 9, 1944 to his parents, Stelson & Betsy (McGuire) Allen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Andrew and Ronald Allen; precious companion, Candy; and grand puppy, Willow. Slick is survived by 3 sisters, Naomi (Terry) Sanders, Patricia (Ed White) Studebaker, and Linda Sue Allen; 2 daughters, Angie (Ron) Scammahorn, and Carla (Tim) Friend; granddaughter, Ashley; great-grandchildren, Timothy, Andrew, and Isaiah; grand puppies, Sage and Tyme; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. The man, the myth, the legend. The man you went to. The man that would back you. The man that would love you. The man that would crack you. What can you say about someone who meant so much to so many, for so long? To know him was an "honor," to befriend him was a "pleasure," to be considered family by him was a "dream come true!" For if you reached that level, you finally had your "Guy." Everybody has a "Guy." Slick, was that "Guy" to all that knew him. So please live your life like Slick, be that "Guy" for all in yours. Because to me Slick is, was, and always will be, my friend, my family, my hero. "He is my legend" Slick you are missed. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020 from 11am-12pm with Funeral service and sharing to begin at 12:00 pm all at Rogers Funeral Home in New Lebanon. Interment will follow the service at Trissel Cemetery.
