James W. "Wilkie" Bird

BIRD, James W., I “Wilkie” Age 70 of Dayton, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 13, 2011. Wilkie was a Mill Wright in the Local Union #1066. Building and racing race cars was his passion. Preceded in death by his parents, Homer & Dorothy Bird; daughter, Peggy Ann Edwards; and grandson, James Bird, III. Survived by his 2 sons, James W. Bird, II, and James William Bird; 3 sisters, Ethel (Carl) Young, Mary (John) Cupp, and Doris (Jeff) Reagan; 1 brother, Winston (Wanda) Bird; 4 grandchildren, Jessica Bird, Alec Edwards, Donavon Dardell, and Jarrett Bird; and many nieces, nephews, many friends and racing buddies. He will be truly missed. A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at ROGERS’ FUNERAL HOME, TROTWOOD, 110 W. Main St. 45426. No services will be held at the funeral home.
