James Melton, Jr.

Age 86 of Dayton, Ohio passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024. He was born in Clay, KY on February 23, 1937 to his parents, James Melton, Sr. & Mae (Price) Melton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Allie Mae (Smith) Melton

James is survived by 2 children, Terry Melton, and Patricia Gulley; 5 grandchildren, Heather, Travis, Ronnie, Ashley, and Kimberley; and 6 great grandchildren, Timothy, Dalton, Nick, Kylee, Elizabeth, Isabelle, and one on the way; and great-great grandchildren, Timothy Edward, Easton, Maddie, Jackson, Carson, and McKenna.

James loved farming and raising cows and chickens. He worked hard all his life to make sure everything was taken care of. He was loved by his family and will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held from 12-1 with funeral service to begin at 1:00pm on Friday, Feb. 16, 2024 at Rogers Funeral Home New Lebanon. Pastor Donnie Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery. www.RogersFuneralHomes.com
