James K. Sheets

SHEETS, James K. Jr. Age 89, a long-time Trotwood resident, passed away on October 18, 2011. He was born on January 23, 1922 to James K. Sr. and Loretta (Heck) Sheets. Preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers; Gene and Joseph, and 1 sister, Phyllis Bruin. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Berneal (Knoepfle); 3 children, James K. III "Jay" (Joan) Sheets of Hailey, Idaho, Susan "Suzi" Sheets of Dayton, and Randall "Randy" (Bridget) Sheets of Clayton. He has 2 grandchildren; Christopher "Chris" (Heather) Sheets of Englewood, OH, and Alex Sheets of Clayton, as well as 2 great-grandchildren; Mia and Reese Sheets. Jim was a proud Army Air Corp veteran serving in World War II, in Europe. He was retired at the closure of McCall's/Dayton Press after 36 years of employment. He spent many years as a high school official for both football and track. After retirement, he was an avid golfer at Larch Tree G.C. and involved with the Shrine Marching Patrol at numerous community events. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon with services at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at Rogers' Funeral Home, 110 W. Main St. Trotwood, OH. Friends and relatives are incited to meet for interment services at Glen Haven Cemetery in New Carlisle at 2:30 PM following the services.
