Jesse R. "J.R." Lightner

LIGHTNER, Jesse R. “J.R.” Age 94, of Brookville, formerly Trotwood, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016. His loving family was by his side. He was born to the late Roy and Matilda Lightner, August 25, 1921. J.R. was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 63 years, Bernice; brother, William Lightner; and sister, Suzanne Worcester. He was the devoted father of two sons and their wives, Emerson J. and Beverly, and Rick A. and Denise; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. J.R. was an Army veteran of WWII and retired from Delco Products after 36 years. He was a charter member of the Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church. Also, a charter member of Masonic Lodge #755 for 60+ years, Dayton Scottish Rites, Antioch Shrine Temple, past commander of Trotwood American Legion Post #613, and Trotwood Boys Baseball Club, along with many other Trotwood organizations too numerous to name. The visitation will be Wednesday, February 3, from 10AM to 12PM at Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church, 525 N Broadway St, Trotwood with the service to begin at 12PM. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Trotwood. The family is requesting no flowers, but contributions in J.R.’s memory be made to Brookhaven Benevolent Foundation, 1 Country Lane, Brookville, 45309.
