SHIVERDECKER, Jim L. “Pappy” Of Lewisburg, passed away unexpectedly late Sunday evening, March 20, 2011. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene & Catherine (Baker) Shiverdecker; 4 brothers, Bob, Joe, Merlin “Sonny,” and Mick; and 2 sisters, Betty and Peggy. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Polly “PS”; his daughter, Sherry (Randy) Rowe; son, Dennis (Suzie) Shiverdecker; granddaughter and beloved Sugarbabe, Nikki (Dustin) Miller; great-granddaughter, Trinity; brother, Terry; and numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Jim was a 1948 graduate of Verona High School where he was played varsity baseball and basketball. Jim served two terms with the U.S. Marine Corp. and was a very proud veteran. He was also National Intramural Basketball Champ after their 1951-1952 season. He had retired from N.C.R. and was the owner and operator of Brookville Party Supply for 15 years. Jim most recently worked at Aunt Millie’s Bakery. He was President of the Lions Club of Lewisburg from 1968-1969 and a lifetime member of the VFW #3288 in Brookville. A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 25, 2011 at ROGERS’ FUNERAL HOME in NEW LEBANON, 324 W. Main St. 45345, with Pastor David Justice officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 PM until the start of the service.
