Joe E. Nelson

NELSON, Joe E. Age 83 of Dayton, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. He was born on May 18, 1935 in Milan, TN to his parents, James & Evie (Bowlin) Nelson who have preceded him in death along with his sister, Francis Nelson; brother, Estlee Lee Nelson; and step-mother, Beulah Nelson. Joe is survived by his wife, Doris; son, Lynn Nelson; grandson, Brian (Shannon) Nelson; 2 sisters, Sarah and Nannie; 1 great-granddaughter, Ashley; 2 great-grandsons; and numerous other nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Joe was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. He made his living as the owner and operator of Nelson’s Garage for 33 years. Joe enjoyed motorcycles and attending church when he was able. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Dayton. Visitation will be held 11am-1pm with funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019 at Rogers Funeral Home, 324 W.
