John F. Branom

BRANOM, John F. Age 72, died on Sunday, July 6, 2014, at his home in Brookville, OH, of Bladder Cancer. He was born on November, 23, 1941 in Detroit, MI, but lived most his life in the Dayton, Ohio area. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlen and Edna (Oliver) Branham; an infant daughter, Nancy Ann; an infant great-grandson, Denny Brock; four brothers, Everett, Charles, Thomas and Robert Branham; and two sisters, Earlene Yeasell and Ellen Louise "Sue" Collins. His survivors include his wife of 21 years, Beverly Branom; his daughter, Lisa Allison and husband, Joe; his son, John F. Branom, II and wife, Donna; his step daughter, Jennifer Miller and husband, Tim; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; his sister, Jane Erwin; his former wife and friend, Mary Garwood; and very large extended family, and many good friends. John was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, and retired from Chrysler Corporation after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Amvets Post 24, The American Legion, and was a Free Mason-Millennium Lodge. He was also a member of the Chrysler Retirees Breakfast Club. John was a strong, kind, loving man, who had a great sense of humor. Although he had gone through serious health issues in recent years, he always fought back hard, and kept his positive outlook on life. In addition to his family and friends, he loved old cars, motorcycles, and his dog, Harley. And, he will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The family wishes to thank, Dr. James Sabiers of Dayton Physician's Network, Miami Valley Hospital's Oncology Department, and Hospice of Dayton for their loving care of John. Visitation will be held from 11AM-1PM with funeral service to follow at 1:00PM on Monday, July 14, 2014 at Rogers' Funeral Home in Trotwood. Interment will follow the service at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Trotwood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in John's memory.
