John H. Collett

Age 77 of Englewood, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on January 16, 1948. Preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Collett; sister, Patsy Collins; and mother-in-law, Glenna Holdeman.

John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kathy Collett; son, Chris (Anna) Collett; grandchildren, Keegan (Susanna) Collett, Krystiana (Tyler) Blackstone, Kenna (Joey) Carranza, and Kylee (Ty) Boaler; 4 great grandchildren, Caspian and Gideon Collett, Asher Garza, and Arryn Blackstone; step-grandchild, Faith Schmidt, sister-in-law, Patty Ledford; nephew, Jared (Jessica) Ledford; great nieces, Dailee, Julie, and Sadie Ledford; and friend Rami Malak.

John proudly served in the US Army. He was active in church and attended CLC and Ginghamsburg throughout his life. John liked Harley’s and riding with Kathy on Trips down the backroads. He also loved Fords, his cats, and being active in the Royal Rangers and mountain men activities. John’s best attribute was that he was always there for people. He was consistently generous, loving, caring and willing to give advice or lend a helping hand. He will be dearly missed.

There will be a celebration of John’s life from 5:00-7:30pm on Friday, January 24th at The Light on the Hill, 2900 Rugged Hill Rd., Casstown, Ohio 45312. From 5:15-5:30 will be military honors, 5:30-6:30 dinner will be served, 6:30-7:00 will be time for remembering and sharing memories of John, and dessert will be from 7:00-7:30 pm.
