John Samuel Denlinger, son of Emanuel & Catherine (Royer) Denlinger, was born February 1, 1926, in Montgomery Co. Ohio. He departed this life October 16, 2019, at his home, where he was lovingly and tenderly cared for in his last days by his daughters and Vitas Healthcare, making his sojourn here 93 years, 8 months, and 15 days. On November 12, 1944, he was baptized into the Old German Baptist Brethren Church. On February 16, 1946, he was united in marriage with Mildred Mae Brubaker. They shared the joys and sorrows of life for over 63 years before Mildred’s passing on July 30, 2009. He enjoyed farming, working for Stutz’s Hatchery and then was a custodian at JVS School for 25 years. He was anointed several years prior and then again on September 17, 2019, which gave him comfort. Surviving are daughters, Donna Jean Denlinger and husband Norman of Brookville, and Diane Denlinger of Clayton; a granddaughter Darlene Boyd and husband Joe of Lewisburg; 2 great-grandsons Gavyn and Wesley Boyd; 2 brother-in-laws Walter Bayer of Troy and Everet Brubaker of Brookville. Many nephews, nieces and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Emanuel & Catherine Denlinger, 2 brothers Byron and Alma Denlinger, Jesse and Carol Jean Denlinger; 3 sisters Eva Rogers and Kenneth, Bertha Deaton and Glen, Ida Mae Bayer and Millie Bayer; sister-in-law Wilma Brubaker; foster sister-in-law Alice and Norman Good. Visitation will be held from 2-5 and 6-8 PM on Monday, October 21st at the Salem Old German Baptist Brethren Church, 9951 Barnes Rd, Clayton, Ohio 45315.
