John Mccurry

McCurry, John Age 78, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Waters of Roan Mountain Nursing Home in Tennessee. He was born on March 21, 1942 in Buncombe County, North Carolina to Grady and Florence (Pittman) McCurry. John was a Veteran of the US Marine Corps and retired from General Motors after 30 years of service, where he had worked as a machinist. He truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures such as gardening, camping, and spending time with family and friends. John had a great sense of humor and was always ready to share it with stories that almost always ended with a belly laugh and a tearful eye. He was very proud of his family and would boast about their accomplishments to anyone that would listen. John was a loving father, husband, and grandfather who will lovingly be remembered by his children: James A. Wilson, Christopher P. McCurry, Thomas L. (Brandy) McCurry, and Desiree R. (Andrew) Bleh; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, numerous relatives and friends, and all who knew him. John was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister, his loving wife, Jackie McCurry, son, Johnathon McCurry; and grandsons, Johnathon McCurry Jr., and Grady McCurry. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 6th at Willow View Cemetery, 2500 Neff Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45414. Please meet at the cemetery and look for the blue tent.
