Peterson, John F., Jr. 84, of New Lebanon, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. He was born September 11, 1937 to Helen S. Peterson in Dayton, who preceded him in death. John is survived by his wife of 54 years, Julia (Ferguson); children, Kathy (Tom) Henry, Terri (Jim) Ball, Dawn (Mikey) Greene; grandchildren, Amy (Derek) Stomberger, Rachel (Chris) Gephart, John (Tiffany) Mustaine, Ashley Mustaine, Eric (Sarah) Mustaine, Mandie (Chris) Church, Michael Greene, Jr., Dana (Austin) Riley, Heather Greene; and numerous great-grandchildren. John retired from Chrysler where he worked for almost 30 years. He was well known in the CB radio community – he loved to hangout with his CB radio and chat. He was known as Trapper John, Beep Beep, and countless other loving nicknames. John was a fisherman, and although he didn’t consider himself to be a pro, competed in many tournaments throughout his life. One of his lesser-known accomplishments was having been a part of Shock Theatre on TV with Dr. Creep. John never met a stranger in his life, and he will be missed by all. Visitation for John will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Rogers Funeral Home in New Lebanon, with the funeral service to begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Trissel Cemetery.
