Johnnie L. Pridemore, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on March 7th, 2026. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that resonates within the hearts of those he cherished. Born on August 23rd, 1942, in Appalachia, Virginia, Johnnie lived a life of commitment and dedication especially in his career as an aviation mechanic and chief of maintenance. He worked hard and earned a well-deserved reputation in the aviation community.
He proudly served in the United States Navy, where he was honorably discharged after four years. This service marked the beginning of a life filled with adventure and accomplishment. He continued to pursue his education by earning his GED and aviation certificates, which showcased his commitment to self-improvement and excellence.
A charismatic man with a great sense of humor, Johnnie found joy in the simplest blessings of life. He was known for hosting memorable 4th of July gatherings filled with fun and the warmth of family. He reveled in fishing with his brothers, son and nephews. He was always ready with a fishing rod and a story to share. Johnnie had a love for classic cars, especially a certain 1957 Chevy convertible. He enjoyed poker and football games, which brought excitement to weekends, holidays and vacations with family.
Beyond his infectious laughter and passion for life, Johnnie was an avid learner with a deep appreciation for history. He enjoyed reading, woodworking, and building things for his family, showcasing his caring nature and desire to contribute to their happiness.
Johnnie’s profound accomplishments were not measured solely by career, but by the relationships built and the stories he shared. He took pride in his travels around the world, his successful aviation career, and most importantly in being there for his family whenever they needed him. His grandchildren, Alexandra, Brooke, Nick, and Jake, along with great-grandson Jonah, were sources of boundless joy and pride.
Johnnie leaves behind his beloved wife Linda, his daughter Angela, son-in-law Bill, son John, bonus daughter Marcia and his treasured grandchildren. His love extended to his siblings Fred, Jack, and Alice along with their respective spouses, Joanne, Mary and Phil. As well as his sister-in-laws Kay, Jacqueline, Brenda and numerous nieces and nephews, creating a large network of love to carry his spirit forward.
He is preceded in death by his mother Omia, father Landon, brothers Ernest, George, Bill, Charles, Tom, and Joe as well as sisters Renia Mae, Joyce, June and brother-in-law Jerry. Their memories will forever be intertwined in the tapestry of his life.
As we gather to celebrate Johnnie’s remarkable life, we take comfort in knowing that there is truly no such thing as “can’t” when it comes to the legacy he leaves behind. He has inspired us to embrace challenges, every moment, and hold our loved ones close. Visitation will take place on March 13th from 12:00 PM to 1:00PM followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 PM at Rogers Funeral Home in New Lebanon, Ohio.
Johnnie will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His spirit will continue to soar and inspire us all to live fully, love deeply and cherish every moment we have together.
