John L. Shannon, Sr.

SHANNON, John L., Sr. Age 73 of Xenia, Ohio passed away peacefully on Monday, May 11, 2020. He was born in Dayton, Ohio to his father, George Shannon, Sr.; and mother, Lucille (Van Horn) Shannon. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by five siblings, Ray, Fred, George, Jr., Bob, and Joanie Shannon. John is survived by his loving wife, Karen, of 51 years; three children, Angie (Lance) Kerr, John Shannon, and Cindy Shannon; 2 granddaughters, Elaine and Grace Kerr; four siblings, Shirley Esterline, Linda Glueckert, Jean Wimmers, and Gary Shannon. John retired from GM after 30 years of service with Security and Production. He enjoyed gardening and walking his greyhounds, Dreamer & Sadie. John was a great husband and loving father. He will be dearly missed. A private family visitation will be held from 11am-12pm with funeral service to follow at 12:00pm on Friday, May 15th at Rogers Funeral Home in New Lebanon.
